What is an augmented reality album?

Augmented Reality (AR) is a technology that extends our physical world by adding layers of digital information to it. Augmented reality albums use the same principle. They consist of a regular printed photo album and a free mobile application. It is it that allows you to revive it when you hover your phone’s camera on a photo!

AlbumAR application is used with graduation albums for kindergarten, school (primary and high school), university. Live photos look very impressive in wedding albums and photo books, thematic albums: birthday, first year, anniversary...

The application features are not limited to albums. AlbumAR can be used with any print product: posters, calendars, postcards or plain printed photographs.

How does the app work?

If you direct the smartphone’s camera to a photo, the software recognizes it using computer vision technology, which analyzes video streams. The magic happens when our software analyzes the printed image. If a match is found, the device downloads the relevant information from the cloud, and a video sequence is launched on top of the printed image.

1. Install and download the free AlbumAR app
2. Open the website www.album-ar.com
3. In the "Examples" section, scan the QR code and point the camera at the photo next to it. Enjoy your viewing and good mood!

Requirements for using the application.

For the AlbumAR application to work properly, it requires Android version 4.03 or higher, a stable 3G or Wi-Fi Internet connection and free space on the phone.
